New Year’s Wish

Welcome to the year 2010! How many thought that they would ever see this year? How many are where they want to be? How many remember that they were just in high school, and now they are grandparents?

Time marches on. It does not stop for anyone, or anything. Like a river, it flows on and on.

For most, that is a good thing. It prods us to analyze where we had been, and where we want to go. This keeps us on track, and leads us into the future.

Hmm! What is my wish for this year? My wish is to be available for my family and friends. I want to enjoy every beautiful moment with them. I want to be a blessing and a gift to them.

This time, next year, I hope to have achieved this goal. For no matter how many poems I write, or books I sell, time continues on. There are only so many chances to share the precious moments that happen with those we care about the most.

What is your wish for the new year?
